French Connection

I hopped straight off the bus and into French Connection on Regent Street. The new season stock was in, and my eyes were drawn to sumptuous purple blouses. Not for me today, though.

There was no obvious section for organics or fairtrade items, so I asked an assistant for help. I asked specifically for organic cotton, rather than ‘ethical stuff’ to keep things straightforward.

The assistant was unfazed and pointed me straight to a lovely pair of organic jeans at £70. Hurrah. Had I needed jeans, I’d have definitely tried them. The assistant was able to tell me the benefits of organic cotton, for which French Connection wins Brownie points (or should that be Greenie points?) but reluctantly admitted that these jeans were the only organic product in the store. We both would love to see more. Not a bad start though.
