The branch near Selfridges had no organic cotton womenswear, though the shop assistant thought there ‘might be something in childrenswear’. If I was desperate to buy something more ethical in Gap I did have the option to buy from the tiny Red range, which was available in the store. A percentage of profits from the Red range goes towards Aids charities in Africa. On offer were basic vest-tops t-shirts, cardigans and Red versions of Converse pumps in black or white leather, with red eyelets, for £50.
