10 Easy Ways To Green Your Style Today
August 23, 2008 by greenmystyle · Leave a Comment
There are a million and one ways to green your home, your wardrobe and your life, so many that it can sometime seem impossible to know where to start.
Well, all it takes is one step. Here are 10 easy ones to pick from. Feel free to do all 10! I do, and I swear it feels better than a splurge in Topshop ever did.
1. Make a commitment to buy less new, unethical stuff each month. Ask yourself if you really need that new pair of shoes / dress / bag. Honestly, it gets easier to say no.
2. If you really do love to shop, look for the kinder products from your favourite stores. Loads of companies, from Hennes H&M to Topshop, American Apparel and Marks & Spencer have organic and fair trade ranges now. If you have a little extra cash to splurge, we love Katharine E Hamnett’s slogan T-shirts. We’d like to order this ‘No More Fashion Victims’ tee please! It’s £60.
3. Perhaps better still, buy more secondhand items. They’re often more interesting and more stylish anyway. Take a look at iloveyou2.co.uk. It showcases the cool stuff from the auction, secondhand and vintage sites. And of course, there’s Daily eBay right here on greenmystyle. Read more
