Daily eBay – beautiful vintage Pucci maxi-dress
June 4, 2009 by greenmystyle
I absolutely adore today’s Daily eBay, a vintage Pucci maxi-dress found by guest editor Farah, of www.usualshop.co.uk. Farah writes: The best-known fabric designs of Emilio Pucci are the purple, orange and green psychedelic swirls, but the blue flowers on this white cotton sun-dress are more restrained. This long dress looks to be a flattering shape as well, with its gathered and gently frilled top, side pleats and splits, and drawstring waist. Just the thing for a hot summer.
This dress, thought to be 1970s, is a size 10 – but probably a US size 10, meaning 12 or even 14 by UK standards. Starting bid is £28, as expected for something by a collectable vintage designer, but I hear that prices of Pucci items are starting to ease, especially if they’re not made from one of the classic prints.
This dress may well go for a reasonable price, then – but as it’s something that could come out year after year, you could always justify it as a good investment buy.
Bidding ends 20.39 on the 7th June.
