Daily eBay – Oliver Heath picks!
October 30, 2008 by greenmystyle
News alert! Oliver Heath, TV eco designer / architect and co-founder of eco home style boutique EcoCentric, has picked out today’s Daily eBay treasure.
Oliver is the second style guru this week to find the nicest vintage stuff on eBay for you, joining Vogue associate editor Celia Duncan, who put aside global glossy magazine duties to do Monday’s pick, just for you. All in the spirit of re-using and recycling.
OIiver’s not only done the pick, but the love has also written the blurb for us, including tips on how to customise this top find if you win it – bid fast it expires today! You can win personalised eco home style tips from Oliver on EcoCentric right now too. Read more on that below.
Over to Oliver…
Oliver writes: “Vintage and retro furniture is a key part of eco chic interiors; it will soften the harder edges off contemporary spaces and materials whilst making them feel more unique and personal. Vintage furniture also has the advantage of not containing modern day toxins such as brominated fire retardants and phthalates – so its good for your home, you and the environment.
“This vintage Danish teak lounge chair armchair, circa-1960, is just the sort of chair that I would fall in love with; understated design with softly sculpted legs, gentle curves and a generous size that would allow for a real sense of comfort.
“I particularly like the idea of having the seat cushion reupholstered with a patchwork of fabrics of vibrant fabrics and simply adding a couple of cushions to the seat back, allowing the ribbed back to be shown off. This chair is a beauty in itself and has he potential to feel very contemporary.
“I do have a real weakness for vintage chairs and own around 25 already, so I can imagine getting lot of pleasure from a chair like this – now if I could just find the space?!”
Current bid price is £39 and bidding ends at 8.15pm tonight.
