Guest editor Bethan Cooper writes: Designer Pierre Hardy has, over the last year, provided Gap with its own little collection of shoes, designed to combat the credit crunch with style and luxury. Hardy’s sculptural and geometric designs have clearly been channelled into this pair of classy gladiator sandals, which originally retailed at £35 in Gap.
Size 6, with minimal wear, these limited edition sandals are the perfect accompaniment to a brightly coloured maxi-dress or even a little white number.
Gladiator sandals have been seen adorning the feet of celebrities such as Kate Moss, Elle Mcpherson and Ashley Olsen. Choose from high-heeled, knee-high or keep it simple with flats, this catwalk trend is everywhere from the red carpet to the beach. Easily dressed up or down with jeans or a dress, I tend to wear mine with floral prints to give an edgier feel.
