Daily eBay – Retro 1970s Ladderax Shelving / Units / Table System

April 9, 2009 by Sarah Woodhead

Today’s Daily eBay, this retro 1970s Staples Ladderax shelving system, is a great complement to our new resident interiors writer Alex Toso’s wonderful Top 10 Sylish Eco Office feature.

I’m in the process of working out how to fit roughly 2.5 times more stuff into my tiny house, and streamlined storage systems are on the list of solutions. I love the ladder frame to this one. And rest assured, when we say Staples, we don’t mean the out of town office supplies warehouse. It’s definitely not made by them!

The system includes a table, which you can see folded up on this picture. There are lots more pictures on eBay of the scheme in its full glory.

According to the seller, the shelving and units are all teak, in great condition with all shelf supports present. The ladders are not marked. In true honest seller style, he also admits: “The only problem is that the drinks cabinet does not have a key. I use a screwdriver to open it when needed. This can be fixed if you prefer, but I never got around to doing this.”

The measurements of the system overall is 200cm high, 180cm in length and 35cm deep. The table dimensions when open are 123cm Long, 78cm width and 73cm high.

Current bid price is only £21 and bidding ends April 12 at 8pm.
