Daily eBay – Windsmoor winter coat

Windsmoor wool coat - vintage 1960s

To borrow a phrase from Vivienne Westwood, interviewed in The Guardian this weekend, ‘don’t buy crap’. And I’d add, don’t buy eBay secondhand crap either. Look for quality labels, like today’s Daily eBay.

We’re thinking winter and turning to warm items today. This Windsmoor sage green long wool winter coat, today’s Daily eBay, is a great piece for keeping chilly winds at bay.

Now, Windsmoor is a top quality coat manufacturer with decades of experience in the field. This coat dates from the Sixties and is still in as-new condition. This will be down to its original superior quality, and the fact that the owner stored it well.

Apart from its quality, what I love about it is the combination of neat tailoring around the shoulders with the looser wrap-around shape. I feel I could wrap myself up warm in this without looking swamped, because the shoulders are slim-fitting and panelled. Check out the seller’s images to see exactly what I mean.

I’m also loving that its not black or beige. A coat can be a real statement piece, so why stick with safe colours? If you’re braver than this sage green even, try peacock blues or orange. There are fab vintage options around. Head for the Eighties rails.

There isn’t a size label, but the seller reckons its a size 12. The exact measurements are on eBay.

This Windsmoor coat is currently at £9.99, and bidding ends November 25 at 1.40pm.
