Chocolate Week starts today

The sixth annual Chocolate Week kicks off today with sponsorship from Divine Chocolate and other eminent chocolate brands. Maria Kaski writes.

Chocolate Week, held from 12th – 18th October, will see a host of talks, tastings and demonstrations take place around the country.

The week-long celebration of fine chocolate promotes the exceptional chocolate makers from the UK and the wonderfully indulgent chocolate they produce.

Highlights of the week include Chocolate Unwrapped, the UK’s first dedicated chocolate show with 25 of the best chocolate companies such as  Artisan du Chocolat, Melt, Rococo and Chococo, under one roof, and the Big Chocolate Tea Party fronted by Philip Schofield in aid of the Sick Children’s Trust.

Organic chocolates are enjoying growing popularity with foodies, with brands such as Montezuma, Blake’s Organic Chocolate and Plaisir du Chocolat among the most respected.
