Eco decorating from an interiors expert

Lighting

We all know about using environmentally friendly light bulbs but is what you put them in eco friendly? We love this desk lamp, £330 from Nigel’s Eco Store. The lamp is made from black walnut from sustainable forests and uses energy efficient LED technology. Or how about this pendant lamp, £45 from Re Found Objects? If it looks familiar it’s because it’s made from recycled jelly moulds.

Throws

They’re perfect for cheering up a neutral sofa or chair not to mention great for snuggling up under on a cold winters’ evening, throws are an essential piece of living room or bedroom kit. We love this Wool throw from Biome Lifestyle £30, which is made from reclaimed, leftover yarn in Scotland and available in five colours, purple plush, beige, red, blue and golden green.

Cushions

No self respecting living room or bedroom is complete without a couple of scatter cushions but if you’re worried about single handedly destroying the world’s cotton fields then how about these nifty designs from recycled seat belts £45 available at By Nature.
