Ada Zanditon, Christopher Raeburn, The North Circular, Nina Dolcetti, Goodone and Minna will be the first group of designers to benefit for the British Fashion Council‘s pioneering Eco Fashion Mentor Programme. Maria Kaski writes.
Supported by the London Development Agency, this scheme aims to provide expert support and increase opportunities for designers seeking to bring sustainable fashion into the mainstream market. Three key industry mentors have been assigned to the individual designers in the run up to LFW this February. The expert panel includes Yasmin Sewell and Susanne Tide-Fraser, both brand consultants, and buying consultant, Bev Malik, all of whom will be looking to play an active role in the brand’s development.
Malik says, “I am delighted to contribute to delivering a 360-degree support to estethica’s mentoring scheme in its aim to involve ethical fashion stars in London.”
Founded four years ago by the British Fashion Council, estethica showcases the creations of designers committed to producing sustainable fashion through the use of fair trading, organic fabrics or recycling.
