Grand Designs Style Editor picks Daily eBay

We are super-chuffed that today’s Daily eBay guest editor is none other than Poppy Norton, Style Editor of Grand Designs Magazine.

We absolutely love Grand Designs. With it’s superior sense of style, focus on design and its fascinating human stories, it’s without doubt our favourite homes show. We especially love it when it showcases new eco homes, of course!

Poppy has picked this retro wall-mounted kitchen cabinet. It has green plastic handles, glazed louvre-style frosted doors, an internal shelf, vented sides and two deep drawers below. It’s in good condition with obvious age wear.

Poppy writes: “Forget Ikea….they don’t make kitchens like they used to! Vintage furniture is a great purchase – think about it – it’s already stood the test of time, so it’s not going to fall apart any time soon (especially if you treat it with the love and affection it deserves), and the design has already dated too (but in a good way, and that’s why we love it) so it’s not going to look like last season’s styling next year.

“This piece is perfect for a vintage-look kitchen – the one where you bake pies and sing along with the birds – but would work equally well in a bedroom. It’s perfect for storing those bulky items that don’t need hanging. And if the colour isn’t your cuppa, then just whip out a paintbrush and get going.”
