Green behind the scenes at LFW

February 18, 2009 by greenmystyle

It’s not just the ranges that need to be ethical, but all the other London Fashion Week stuff too – from invites to lighting to eco travel. With the pressure of the Week, designers could almost be forgiven for throwing their green credentials out of the window, but oh no. Maria Kaski gets the lowdown on the designers’ lesser known ‘green behind the scenes’ good deeds. Greenmystyle.com’s London Fashion Week coverage is sponsored by eco fashion boutique DeviDoll.com.

Mac Millan
Mac Millan (pictured here) will be using artisan craftsmanship in its new collection, and have only ever used UK manufacturers and craftspeople. Recycling is part of the everyday habits in the design studio, and interestingly, this up-and-coming fashion house will be using recycled Mac Millan fabrics in the new collection. Greenmystyle suggests you keep an eye out for these recycled pieces, it might be the trendiest (and most cost effective) way to update your own wardrobe.
