Yes, it’s a Harry Bertoia chair. You know him. He’s another of the great designers of the Twentieth Century. Foremost a metalworker, Italian-born deigner Harry Bertoia best demonstrated his love of the craft in his popular series of steel mesh furniture from 1952. One for fact fans: he designed and created Charles and Ray Eames’ wedding rings. And he worked with the Eames, as well as Knoll and Eero Saarinen.
Of these chairs Bertoia said: “If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes right through them.”
Stylish homes have at least one Harry Bertoia chair. And look, this one’s been living in a yellow house. Rescue it people!
