Plum Ethical launches as the new eco online bag shop
September 8, 2009 by Maria Kaski
Plum Ethical is the new online eco shop for beautiful must-have bags. Jennifer Ebert writes on the launch of the latest accessory store.
Plum Ethical, created in 2009 by Simon Garrett, is based purely on ethical products. With bags on show ranging from reclaimed materials to recycled and non-animal fabrics, Plum Ethical proves that ethical bags can be affordable, beautiful and fashionable too.
The new eco shop will also stock the cream of luxury ‘green’ bag brands, with names including The Rubber Cow Company, PlanetSilverChilli, Neumatica and E&KO.
Speaking on the ethos of the store, Simon said, ”At Plum Ethical, we aim to show that ethical bags are also beautiful bags. Our bags demonstrate a return to artistry and producing beautifully crafted goods but using only sustainable resources, and without causing a detrimental effect on the environment.”
The shop offers a wide range of bags guaranteed to satisfy any green goddess from trendy vegan bags, sleek holdalls and weekend bags made from metal-lined tea sacks to reused fire hose bags. Their bags are hand-made, and no two are exactly the same.
Simon adds, “We believe that fashion should play its part in recycling, and the bags we sell are testimony that ethics and fashion can successfully mix.”
