Top eco model and author Summer Rayne Oakes took to the catwalk last night at the London Fashion Week launch party for UK Made By, an organisation which wants to make it easier for you to tell how your fashion purchases have been made.’s London Fashion Week content is sponsored by ethical fashion boutique

Summer Rayne joined a line-up of models showcasing highlights from the Spring Summer 09 collections from fashion labels already working with Made By, including Edun, Kuyichi, Komodo, Jackpot, Claudia Strater and Rianne de Witte.

Made By, established in the Netherlands in 2004, helps fashion labels improve their manufacturing processes to make them more sustainable.Thirty brands already use the system, and it’s set to grow in the UK now that it has its own division here.

Made By also helps us shoppers by providing information about how our clothes have been made. Clothes that carry a special Made By code can even be tracked on an internet database which shows the specific story of how that item has been made. It’s a great system that gets our full support. We think eco-conscious style lovers like you will really benefit.

Last night’s party was a very stylish affair, again with a fabulous turnout of boutique owners, designers and press. It brought to an end a round of London Fashion Week events from which its clear to see that ethical fashion is the hot story.
