Today’s find is this charcoal grey silk tulip skirt from Noir, the luxury eco collection. It’s a UK size 14,  with side slits, stitching at the waist and jet pockets on the front. The skirt is fully lined and fastens with a zipper at the side.

You’ll need to move fast as bidding ends at 21.04 September 1. The current price is £25, which is a great price for a Noir piece. It will look great for seasons to come.

Verner Panton chairs

Today’s discovery is this pair of Verner Panton chairs. I have two of these already and they look fantastic with my Eero Saarinen table.

These two aren’t in best shape, but the current bid price is only 99 pence, and at anything less than £50 for the pair it would be worth finding out if they can be reconditioned. They’re a sleek shape, and such a classic piece of Twentieth Century design.

Another fantastic Autumn / Winter ‘08 find today, this time from stylist Aimee Watkins. Capturing two key trends for the new season – jewel colours and lace – it’s this emerald silk camisole top with black lace trim and front bow detail from Banana Republic.

Banana Republic does classic and longer lasting styles really well, and the quality is generally very good too.

It’s a UK size 12 (US 8), and is 95% silk and 5% spandex, for stretch. It has a concealed side zip fastening.

The current bid price is a measly £2.50 (it likely cost around £50 new), and the bidding ends August 31 at 7pm.

Vintage black lace prom dress

Today’s find captures two key autumn trends in one – it’s this greyish black lace prom dress. The high street is set to be full of these this season, but you can snap up this one from eBay and help keep clothes out of landfill.

This vintage 1950s-style prom dress is a size 10-12, and has a structured bustier and ’sticky out’ net skirt, says the owner in best fashion speak. It’s also a classic piece, and could be a handy party dress staple for some years.

Worn only once, there’s a small hole in the first layer of the skirt which isn’t noticeable and apparently could be mended easily.

The current price is a whopping 99 pence. Yep, that’s less than a pound for one of Autumn / Winter ’08’s top party dress styles. It’s unlikely to stay so low in price, but bound to still be a bargain. And don’t forget it’s much better for the planet as well as your purse to re-use and recycle.

Daily eBay – Serfontaine skinny jeans

Today’s discovery is an eco double whammy. Not only are you re-using and saving clothes from landfill, but you’ll be re-using a product that already has green credentials. It’s this pair of Serfontaine skinny jeans.

A celebrity favourite (Sienna Miller and Madonna wear them), Serfontaine jeans are manufactured sweatshop-free using methods that prolong the life of the jean. Find out more in greenmystyle.com’s Top 10 Ethical Jeans list.

This pair is a size 25 (UK 8 – waist 34cms, leg 92cms) and carries the trademark Serfontaine fat stitching. The back pocket carries a relatively modest studded pattern. The seller describes them as an ‘mint condition’.

The start bid price is £15. With an RRP of £155, it’s not bad. Bidding ends August 28 at 10.08am.

Daily eBay – Robin Day for Habitat sofabed

It’s back to homewares for today’s Daily eBay. If I had room in my house I’d be snapping this one up myself. It’s the Robin Day for Habitat sofa bed.

It’s a modern authentic reproduction of a classic Robin Day design, produced by Habitat and now out of production.

The back rest drops down to reveal a larger seating area or to make room for use as a bed. It’s a lovely modernist, clean style you’ll feel proud to have.

The seller says it is in great condition, just cleaned, with a few minor marks commensurate with age. Check the pictures on eBay, plus the dimensions.

Retro 1960s-style vase

Today’s find is this retro 1960s-style vase, gorgeously simple in shape, with a cream and white larva finish and a colourful handpainted bullrush design. It has a chocolate brown interior. It measures 28cm in height and 11.5cm diameter at the base.

The seller describes it as free of cracks or chips but with a faint grey shadow line close to its rim. Whatever, I think it’s really pretty and would look great in any modern interior.

The starting bid price is £4.99, and bidding ends August 26 at 19.14.

Today’s discovery is this Marc by Marc Jacobs purple silk jacquard sleeveles cherry print dress, with a V-neck and wrap-front bodice. It’s a UK size 8.

From the Spring 08 collection it has button tabs on the shoulders and hips, a pleated skirt section, two front patch pockets and a zip at the side to fasten.

My Grazia catwalk report for Autumn 08 says that bright colours, and especially clashing colours, are hot. This Marc by Marc Jacobs dress would look stunning with mustard or pink opaque tights. It’s a winner. Go on, re-use and recycle!

Current bid price is £50, and the seller claims its RRP is £250. It’s new but without tags. Bidding ends August 17 at 12.09pm.

I’ve been studying my Grazia autumn / winter catwalk trends report while hunting around eBay this morning, and this jacquard cape in heathery, pinky and fawn tones, is absolutely bang on trend.

Yep, capes are back for next season, and as Grazia says ‘you have to love a coat that makes your legs look thin and hides everything from neck to knees’.

This size 10 cape with sleeves is a catalogue overstock, so whilst not strictly enjoying a second life, buying it will help reduce the clothes waste mountain. The latest bid is £4.99, and bidding ends August 14 at 23.12pm.

Stylist Aimee Watkins discovered today’s find. It’s this rainbow-stripe Sonia Rykiel top.  It’s a loose style size 12. The colours – purple, pink, hot pink and red – are set to be hot favourites for autumn / winter, and I reckon this top would look great over a black long-sleeved vest, and belted. Oo yes, with black skinny jeans. I might have to bid for it myself.
