Daily eBay – American Apparel dress
October 8, 2008 by greenmystyle · Leave a Comment
We admit it, you have to be whippet thin and rather young to properly get away with today’s Daily eBay discovery; this American Apparel bodycon dress.
Pop starlet Leona Lewis has been snapped leaving airports in the purple and white American Apparel bodycon dress; a dress that looks like a skirt and top being the epitome of chic right now.
This black and white version is a size XS; the seller is between a 6 and an 8, and it fitted her ‘perfectly’. I know, I know, it’s tiny. But someone out there will be perfect for it, and right now it’s a measly 99pence.
Bidding ends October 17 at 10.10pm.

Daily eBay – Julien Macdonald dress
September 15, 2008 by greenmystyle · Leave a Comment
As designer Julien Macdonald hits the catwalk at London Fashion Week today, it seemed only fitting that today’s Daily eBay should be a a Julien Macdonald number too.
It’s this black and white check dress from Star by Julien Macdonald, one of the Designers at Debenhams ranges. Yep, I know, we’re good to you at greenmystyle.com. Cute isn’t it?
The check is appropriately Autumn / Winter, and the prom dress shape still rocks. It has a net detail on the bottom edge. Well, it is a prom dress.
It’s a size 14, new with tags, and the starting bid is £15. The auction ends September 17 at 11.39am.

Vintage black lace prom dress
August 26, 2008 by admin · Leave a Comment
Want to buy more vintage and secondhand clothing and homewares from eBay, but don’t have the time to find the best pieces amidst the…ahem…drossy stuff? Don’t fear! Help is at hand. Every day, in the spirit of re-using and recycling, I’ll bring you one gorgeous item.
Today’s find captures two key autumn trends in one – it’s this greyish black lace prom dress. The high street is set to be full of these this season, but you can snap up this one from eBay and help keep clothes out of landfill.
This vintage 1950s-style prom dress is a size 10-12, and has a structured bustier and ’sticky out’ net skirt, says the owner in best fashion speak. It’s also a classic piece, and could be a handy party dress staple for some years.
Worn only once, there’s a small hole in the first layer of the skirt which isn’t noticeable and apparently could be mended easily.
The current price is a whopping 99 pence. Yep, that’s less than a pound for one of Autumn / Winter ’08’s top party dress styles. It’s unlikely to stay so low in price, but bound to still be a bargain. And don’t forget it’s much better for the planet as well as your purse to re-use and recycle.
The bidding ends August 31 at 15.04pm.

We love Stella McCartney, and it seems that you do too. The last time we featured a great secondhand McCartney find on Daily eBay you loved it so much it got views long after the auction had ended. So, for any disappointed fans out there, here’s another gorgeous Stella McCartney dress.
This mustard dress, with bow detail, is 100% cotton and a UK size 8. There’s something of the Brideshead about it I think – and surely that’s the best looking film of the year?
The current bid price is £70, and again you’ll have to be quick as bidding ends at 8.03pm tonight.
I’ve gone to dress heaven

Friends, I’m one happy lady. Seems it’s absolutely possibly to be stylish, unique and green all at the same time.
Look at this range of reinvented dresses from Dreamandawake. They’re old pieces redesigned into contemporary styles, and there’s only one of each. Oh, the joy of it.
I’m pleased to see that they look wearable and beautiful, and not like accidents from a student fashion class.
It’s worth a visit to see the photography on the website too. It’s a little bit arty, but better than the average ‘wistful looking girl in field’ images. Note to eco fashion companies: Why does green equal field? We don’t want to be rural, we just want to be green.

American Apparel Sale bargain – organic cotton dress
July 31, 2008 by greenmystyle · 1 Comment
American Apparel is fast becoming a staple label in the wardrobes of trendy young urbanites who clamour for its brightly coloured leggings and pseudo-porn bikinis in an Eighties vibe that they’d avoid like plastic bags had they been there the first time around.
Being neither particularly trendy and definitely not young, what I like best about American Apparel is its green credentials. Ok, the company is far from perfect, but for starters, the manufacturing process is infamously sweatshop free with all items made in its LA factory. Workers are paid twice the minimum wage and get a range of perks, from onsite massage to subsidised lunches. Read more about this here.
The kindest items in American Apparel are possibly the organic ranges, if you want to ratchet up your green purchasing a notch or two, which is always a good idea. I scanned its website today and spotted this 100% organic brushed cotton babyrib dress, from the Sustainable Edition, which is on sale exclusively online at a Sale price of £14, down from £18.
Okay, the model in this image looks about 12-years-old, but don’t let that put you off. American Apparel’s organic range of knickers and vests is sexier than the average eco lingerie, and also well worth a look.

Today’s Daily eBay is this black party dress designed by Karl Lagerfeld for Hennes H&M.The dress is made of black silk, with a net petticoat underneath and a black sash around the waistline. It’s a size 10-12, and has never been worn.
Hennes has somehow snapped up an impressive number of designer names over the years, with Stella MacCartney, Roberto Cavalli and jeweller Solange Azagury-Partridge also doing ranges. Lagerfeld’s dates back to 2004/05, and his first collection sold out in hours.
I’m not sure which collection this dress is from. It’s not cheap, with a starting bid at £39.99, but it’s classic shape means it could be a long player in your wardrobe, and a fantastic party dress. Bidding ends August 2, at 14.31pm.
