Daily eBay guest pick – Minna Hepburn

Finnish designer Minna Hepburn picks today’s Daily eBay. It’s this gothic black lace prom dress with an edge.

Minna designs a small collection of pieces that embrace the things she loves: antique market finds, beautiful textiles and lace. Minna uses organic, fair trade and recycled materials wherever possible. She has also now paired up with French designer Maguy de Chadirac. Maguy brings amazing work experience in Haute Couture for design houses such as Louis Vuitton, Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier and Hermes.

No surprise that Minna has picked a lace dress, then. And, as I found myself singing Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of the Heart last night at a karaoke Christmas party – yes, I know folks, sorry – the idea of dressing up like a member of Heart in a dress that Minna has handpicked suddenly seems very attractive.

Minna writes: “As lace has been a bit trend this year, I chose this fabulous black lace dress in size 10/12. Wear it to a special New Year’s party (if you have one to go to) with attitude. The dress has a bodice, so you will fit in perfectly even if you had stuffed yourself with too many mince pies and turkey!
“The dress is a bit of a prom dress (which I am not a big fan) but the gothic lace toughens it up, so it get my thumbs up and a bid. Wear it with black tights and simple high heel shoes, but nothing with bows please!”

Starting bid price is £9.99, and bidding ends in only a matter of hours, at 7.27pm tonight.
