Daily eBay – Salvatore Ferragamo

Today’s Daily eBay is this chic pair of Salvatore Ferragamo herringbone kitten heels, discovered by greenmystyle’s resident stylist, Aimee Watkins.

Herringbones and kittens; sounds like a different story altogether doesn’t it? Cute!

Salvatore Ferragamo means reliable quality and design quirkiness, and these shoes certainly seem to have the latter. We love them. They’d look great with thick black tights and a pencil skirt. And such a wearable height too, at just under three inches on the heel. These are wear-all-day shoes.

They’re a size 4, and used with some very small signs of wear. But we applaud signs of wear! It’s great to know that items are being loved, used and then sent on to a new loving home for a longer life. Aww, that’s so sweet we’ll be thinking about kittens again soon.

Current bidding price is 99pence, and bidding ends October 19 at 9.35pm.

Daily eBay – Alexander McQueen heeled ballet pumps

Want to buy more vintage and secondhand clothing and homewares from eBay, but don’t have the time to find the best pieces amidst the…ahem…drossy stuff? Don’t fear! Help is at hand. Every day, in the spirit of re-using and recycling, I’ll bring you one gorgeous item.

Today’s Daily eBay is this beautiful pair of Alexander McQueen heeled ballet pumps from his ready-to-wear collection. The silk and leather shoes are sky blue in colour, and barely marked after only a short spell in a show and in the showroom, apparently. They’re a UK size 7, but the seller says that they come up quite small.

Right now they are a real bargain, with the current bid price at £3.20. This hasn’t yet met the reserve price, though. Bidding ends at midnight on August 13.

I hope I’m not being slow off the mark here, but I’ve just discovered Melissa, a fascinating, sexy and eco-friendly shoe collection.

The latest pair, pictured here, are creating the buzz right now. They’ve been designed by acclaimed architect Zaha Hadid and go on sale exclusively at London’s Dover Street Market after their very own launch party at London Fashion Week next month (let’s hope that’s a green party). They come in eight different colours.

A Brazillian label, Melissa makes 100% eco shoes from a recyclable product called melflex. Its manufacturing techniques also mean virtually zero waste in the factory, plus it supports environmental and social projects in Brazil.

Melissa has collaborated with other designers including Vivienne Westwood (check out the new Melissa Lady Dragon + Vivienne) and J Maskery.  The shoes are apparently on all the hottest feet in Brazil, and right now, in this heatwave, I bet those are very hot feet.

Maybe a tie-up with Brazilian supermodel Giselle might get the word out even further? I seem to remember Heidi Klum collaborating with Birkenstock. Hmm, I also seem to remember those sandals were a bit glitzy.
