Although he met his doom in Titanic by hitting an iceberg, DiCaprio has worked tirelessly to stop the ice from melting through his work with The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. The Foundation includes working with the Natural Resources Defence Council, Global Green USA and the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

Now of course George Clooney is a heartthrob for reasons other than his ethics, but his environmental work may only serve to increase your love for him.
Clooney founded Oil Change, an organisation that seeks to reduce the American dependence on foreign oil. The organisation came out of the film Syriana, a geo-political thriller about the far-reaching effects of the oil industry.
The ER star also drives a snazzy electric car and supports the Save Darfur campaign.

Alex James, Bassist for the band Blur, has traded in his rock and roll lifestyle for cheese making and local produce.
James has gushed about his love of local produce in many national newspapers, focusing on the environmental and economic importance of shopping locally.
The musician also presented the BBC documentary Cocaine Diaries: Alex James in Colombia which looked into the violent drug export trade- a courageous move for someone who admitted using cocaine in the past.

Sting is one of the pioneers of the high-profile eco celebrity image. He founded the Rainforest Foundation which works to conserve rainforests and help the indigenous people living within them.
The various projects run by the Foundation have pressurised governments into making new laws to preserve the rainforests and help the people living in them. For his work as an environmental activist, Sting has a species of tree frog named after him: the Dendropsophus stingi!
