There’s floral galore in Poppy Valentine’s new Spring collection

March 31, 2009 by Clare Saxon

Poppy Valentine is one of those amazing finds you have to tell all your friends about, due to it’s handmade remade vintage fashion which is all affordable and one of a kind. The Spring collection has just flooded the website and it looks fresh as a daisy. Hundreds of them. On olive green. Swooon!

Nicole Farhi, Roberto Cavalli, Moschino Cheap & Chic, MaxMara, Blumarine, Erdem, Nanette Lepore and Oscar de la Renta. That is one of hell of a list of designers, so if they are all doing something you can be sure it is one sure-fire trend for SS09. And what they are all doing is floral, which means it is time to prime your petals and buy a flowery piece that will last through the year.

Spring is the perfect time to revive your love for leafy rose print fabrics and let loose your vintage eye on the shops for a look that is incedibly Sixties and kitsch. One shop does it all for you and makes sure noone else will be looking the same; Poppy Valentine. If you haven’t yet heard of it, you will now that flower power is fighting its way back into our wardrobes, as it is the perfect place to grab that ornate investment buy.

Their Spring collection has just launched in the London shop and online and let me tell you the ‘f’ word appears frequently. Florals have over taken not only work skirts, bag linings and belts but the mere mortal muted tones of the humble hoodie, which is surprisingly lovely to look at.

This feminine take on urban attire is something we are applauding for individuality and scrambling over ourselves to have a piece of. The florid collection is fancy, fresh and full of Spring time joviality, which is just what we need at the moment.
