2. Butcher Couture sunglasses

I have been waiting for this for a long time. Ethical sunglasses that are practical, durable and damn well stylish too. The look is slick, the texture is sumptuous and the design is cleverly adaptable.

Step out of a sci-fi anime film from the future with sophisticated style that’ll be causing traffic jams in your wake. The glasses come in several shapes and earthy tones that will soften a hardened urban style with sexy natural detail.

The lenses are made from cellulose which I am told is ‘more eco than most plastics’. But the real eco genius behind the shades is the two-in-one aspect as the organic, vegetable-tan leather is removable, leaving a high end rimless design beneath, proving the eco ethos that you can alter and adapt to update.

And the other genius behind the actual shades in this picture is the beautiful designer herself, Babou Olengha. She tells me that the next step for Butcher Couture is using recycled metals for the frames.
