Marilyn Monroe was once famously quoted as saying she only wore Chanel No5 in bed. Well, we think had she still been around today, she might have been swayed by some of the best eco fragrances around.

Choosing a fragrance can be time-consuming, daunting and let’s face it a little bit scary, as anyone who’s walked through Selfridge’s beauty hall and had bottle upon bottle of scent thrust upon them can testify.

We’ve taken the hassle out of finding some of the best eco fragrances with our top ten and we promise you, there’s not a whiff of a dodgy homemade perfume to be found.

ancientattar-231. Aveda

No surprise that Aveda has decided to add an eco-friendly perfume to its stable of exceptional beauty products. The rather lengthily-named Ancient Attar Pure-fume Spirit Aroma Spray has been made using traditional Indian techniques and combines a blend of four oils: Rose, Rose Geranium, Sandalwood and Neroli. The eco-credentials for this floral scent are, as you would expect, second to none. The Rose, Rose Geranium and Neroli oils are all certified organic and the Sandalwood oil is ethically sourced and fully traceable.
